Director of Osteopathic Exams

Joel completed his urological surgery residency at St John Providence Health in Detroit. He served as the program’s Chief Resident 2012-2015. He was selected into the highly competitive Endourology/Robotics fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. He is a well-published scientific author and has made countless presentations in local, regional, and international arenas. His article titled 'Hemostatic Plug: Novel Technique for Closure of Percutaneous Nephrostomy Tract' was named feature article and placed on the cover of the March 2015 issue of the Journal of Endourology and featured on the UroToday.com website. He has received numerous awards for his teaching prowess including the ACOS Erwin Literary Award, the MOA Scientific Research Award, the AUA Thirlby Award, MSU Mark Cummings Award and the AOF Outstanding Resident of the Year award. His fields of interest include percutaneous endoscopic renal surgery and minimally invasive GU cancer surgery.
