About Me

Marie

Contributing Physician Author and Editor

Marie’s medical career has taken a meandering and varied route, ranging from basic science research to clinical research to physician educator. The only real constant has been a love of learning new things and educating others. Her journeys have taken her to New York City for medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she met the guy who was to become her husband in her gross anatomy group. A board certified Endocrinologist, the majority of her research career was with the small branch of the NIDDK that does clinical research in Phoenix, AZ. She is now a well-published, semi-retired physician scientist whose primary focus is on medical writing, promoting scientific literacy, and education of the next generation of physicians. When not sitting at the computer, she can be found teaching a class, driving her kids to community theater, making costumes, or hiking.
